Sutton Shopmobility were delighted to be one of 14 local charities invited to Cheam Rotary’s Annual Presentation Evening last week. In December a team of 7 Sutton Shopmobility staff and volunteers accompanied Cheam Rotary’s legendary Santa Sleigh around North Cheam collecting on behalf of local charities. ”The annual event is always a lot of fun and a great way of ushering in Christmas “, explained Sutton Shopmobility Manager, Amanda Beck.
On Tues, Cheam Rotary announced they’d raised a stunning £11,500 over the 4 week collecting period and Sutton Shopmobility were kindly awarded a cheque for £420.
“Cheam Rotary do an amazing job of supporting local charities and we feel very privileged to participate in a happy tradition that has been running since 1966. We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and will use the money to help promote a new service we plan to launch helping make broken wheelchairs and equipment suitable for use again”.
